Millets

Shree anna

Ancient, naturally gluten-free grains from India's dryland farms. We supply pearl millet from Rajasthan, finger millet from Karnataka, sorghum from Maharashtra and smaller millets, machine-cleaned and sorted to export grade.

Sourced from Rajasthan, Karnataka and Maharashtra

Heaps of grains and seeds beside dried wheat stalks

Where it comes from

Millets grow with little water on India's dry plateaus, which is why Rajasthan, Karnataka and Maharashtra lead production. They are naturally gluten-free and high in fibre, and demand from health-food and gluten-free brands has grown steadily.

Grain is cleaned, destoned, graded and sorted before packing. Flours are milled fresh to order, and every lot is checked for moisture and foreign matter.

Questions buyers ask

Which millet should I start with?

For gluten-free baking, sorghum and pearl millet flours are the easiest to work with. For health-food retail, finger millet and foxtail millet are the best known in Western markets.

Can you mix different millets in one container?

Yes. Mixed containers with several millets and pack sizes are common for first orders.
